eLVD (Large Volume Delivery) Patch Pump - Wearable Drug Delivery System
The E3D patch pump combines a reusable driving unit with a disposable reservoir, designed for extended subcutaneous delivery of biologics and specialty drugs. TENA's design approach centered on intuitive operation, patient safety, and validated usability for motoricaly challenged users.
Through iterative usability testing with Parkinson's patients, TENA together with the E3D team have addressed critical needs that shaped the final design: guided positioning that enables correct placement even with tremors, straightforward installation and removal procedures, ergonomic considerations that support treatment independence and compliance with tactile and sesmic feedback, clear visual indicators, and an extremely simplified interface optimized for self-administration.

One-Hand Strapping Technique: Push and Pull forces counteracting one against the other
Following brain or muscle injury, some patients retain function on only one side of their body. Our one-hand strapping technique uses the Electric Unit as a fixed anchor point, enabling users to independently attach the device to the same precise location each time—with just one hand.
