Atlas is Kornit’s flagship machine, supplying hundreds of units to Amazon’s DTG production farms. A Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printer, the Atlas machines awaken to incredible capacities during sports events such as the superbowl, NFL and NBA leagues. While the Atlas is highly advanced technologically, it posed a greater challenge in the design process due to the fact that the typical operators are “seasonal” workers, lacking the experience and personal dedication. This dissonance led us to develop the design with a high differentiation in accesses and job management, characteristics reflected both in the physical and the UX-UI design.
